About the Role
As part of an established Academic Liaison Librarians team, this role is ideal for someone passionate about digital education and supporting students in developing digital and information literacy skills. You will play a key role in enhancing the Library’s digital learning provision alongside the existing Digital Technologist, including teaching students how to navigate digital information, AI tools, and academic technologies. Responsibilities include designing accessible online learning materials, videos, guides, and interactive content, as well as delivering workshops on digital literacy, generative AI, academic integrity, and effective use of digital resources. You will help students and staff build confidence and competence in an evolving digital landscape.
Alongside this digital focus, you will provide subject support to designated academic areas through embedded class teaching, one-to-one student appointments, and liaison with academic staff.
Library Services is dedicated to providing high quality and innovative support for learning, teaching, and research. We place library services at the heart of the student experience, embracing emerging technologies and continuously developing our skills to meet the needs of students and colleagues.

Requirements

Experience
Experience supporting learners’ digital or academic skills is essential. Experience in teaching, digital education, or student-facing support is highly valued.

About you
You are proactive and confident, enjoy teaching and working directly with students, and are comfortable with educational technologies, online platforms, and digital content creation. You are curious about emerging technologies, including AI, and their impact on learning. You communicate clearly, explaining complex ideas simply, work collaboratively, build strong partnerships with colleagues, and are enthusiastic about inclusive learning.

Qualifications
A library or information qualification is welcome but not essential if you have equivalent relevant experience in teaching, digital education, or student support.
