We have an exciting opportunity in our IS&T team for an experienced Web Accessibility Engineer ready to deepen their craft and broaden their impact. You will bring solid hands-on experience building and evaluating accessible web experiences and testing with assistive technologies. This role involves partnering with multiple teams across various projects, applying your subject matter expertise to guide accessible outcomes and contributing to the evolution of accessibility practices at Apple.

Apple’s IS&T Accessibility Center for Excellence (CoE) team promotes and supports accessibility globally across Apple, embedding accessibility into customer and employee-facing digital services, apps, and websites. As a Web Accessibility SME on the CoE team, you will deliver expert-level accessibility consulting, requiring self-drive, attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a hands-on approach in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include:
- Applying technical accessibility knowledge and standards to deliver remediation efforts using technical accessibility testing methodologies.
- Performing accessibility evaluations of web applications, documenting findings, and providing actionable recommendations.
- Reviewing and advising on design, code, and content for accessibility in partnership with product, design, and engineering teams.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle and representing the team positively and effectively.
- Contributing to the development and delivery of accessibility training, tooling, and standards.

Experience
Proven experience in software engineering focused on web accessibility. Strong hands-on experience with web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and client-side frameworks. Demonstrated ability to write accessible code solutions and implement accessibility testing methodologies. Experience testing with assistive technologies such as VoiceOver, JAWS, and NVDA. Familiarity with WCAG 2.x guidelines and WAI-ARIA standards.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent experience. Aptitude for independently learning new technologies and evolving accessibility practices.
