Location
South East London - Primarily based at Laurence House, Catford, SE6 4RU. The role operates a hybrid working approach requiring a mix of office and home working as determined by service needs.
Hours
Full Time - Standard local government working hours apply.
Salary
£42,912 - £44,235 per annum (SO2). Appointments will normally be made at the minimum spinal column point for the grade unless matching current salary with evidential proof.
About the Role
Join the Housing Services Directorate as an Accommodation Assessments & Lettings Officer and play a vital role in supporting Lewisham’s diverse communities. You will be responsible for offering suitable accommodation under S188 and S193 duties, ensuring a high-quality, customer-focused service for applicants eligible for homelessness assistance. This role involves enforcing offers of suitable accommodation, correctly discharging duties, and completing all relevant tasks to support continuous improvement and efficiency in service delivery. You will be at the forefront of shaping strategies that positively impact clients in temporary accommodation, contributing to Lewisham’s proud status as the UK’s first Borough of Sanctuary.

Experience
Proven experience working within housing services with a strong knowledge of Part 6 & 7 of the Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Act 2002, and Localism Act 2011. Experience in offering suitable accommodation under S188 and S193 duties and issuing discharge of duty decisions is essential.

Qualifications
