About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to coordinate and facilitate the production and delivery of in-store Point of Sale (POS) for the M&S Food account. The Account Manager works directly with the M&S Marketing in-store team, liaising with key stakeholders and is responsible for keeping all campaigns within budget and on time. The role supports the Senior Account Manager and is integral to the effective running of the marketing function within M&S Food, coordinating the delivery of all administrative elements of marketing campaigns and activity.
Working closely with various M&S teams, you will lead the ITG team to meet key critical path deadlines so that artworks, production briefs, and costs are approved by key stakeholders when required, enabling seamless campaign delivery to stores.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Receiving briefs from team leads or directly from the client (M&S Marketing) and clearly communicating timelines, creative templates, and costings.
- Linking all briefs back to the M&S planning managers and managing relationships between M&S Marketing and Planning teams to ensure smooth campaign execution and timely artwork approval.
- Driving momentum across projects, keeping activity moving at pace and ensuring all teams align to critical path deadlines.
- Leading pre-production meetings per campaign in support of the Senior Account Manager to ensure M&S Marketing provides clear finalized artwork briefs.
- Maintaining strong relationships with the ITG Artwork Production Team based in Birmingham, flagging urgent or large campaigns in advance and providing realistic deadlines.
- Briefing final artwork to the ITG Artwork Production team using pre-approved templates with sufficient lead time, especially during busy periods.
- Avoiding bottlenecks in artwork periods by pre-planning and maintaining open communication with the wider team.
- Accurately managing information from M&S business units, formulating full production and artwork briefs, producing detailed print specifications, and maintaining print allocations for POS material via the Media Centre tech system.
- Supporting the Print Contract Manager when required.
- Ensuring printers are engaged each campaign regarding deadlines, workload, and realistic timings for receiving Purchase Orders and final artwork.
- Keeping all M&S cost trackers for POS up to date and regularly communicating costs with the ITG Senior Account Manager, Senior Account Director, and M&S Marketing.
- Ensuring Purchase Orders are raised well in advance of print dates and flagging any issues early with the M&S team.
- Leading by example in ways of working, setting standards for pace, organisation, attention to detail, and stakeholder management.
Experience
Previous experience working in an agency environment with advertising experience is essential. Strong project management skills with the ability to traffic multiple projects simultaneously at different stages of the creative process. Good knowledge of creative processes and a thorough understanding of in-store POS is required. Experience in retail is advantageous but not necessary.
About you
You are a people person with exceptional interpersonal skills and a customer-focused mindset. You can manage your own time effectively and deliver quality work with speed without micromanagement. Attention to detail is critical as you will manage multiple projects concurrently. You are comfortable interacting with an enthusiastic and committed team and working collaboratively with both ITG and the wider M&S team.
Qualifications
Not specifically stated; however, strong experience in project management and advertising agency environments is expected.
