Location
Hybrid working based at the Scientific Campus in Colindale, London. You will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of your contractual working hours (approximately 3 days a week pro rata, averaged over a month) working at the campus.

Hours
Full Time - standard Civil Service working hours with flexible working options available.

Salary
£30,266 per annum

About the Role
The Administrative Officer will work collaboratively with all members of the team and/or Directorate to provide accurate and effective administrative support. The post holder will work with minimal supervision and be expected to work flexibly as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing a wide range of specific administrative duties. This may involve working with colleagues based across the country at different sites and/or remotely.

Key responsibilities include comprehensive administrative support such as diary management for senior staff, handling telephone enquiries with tact and confidentiality, managing correspondence, collating data for reports, and assisting with business operations. The role also involves financial and resource management duties including procurement and travel arrangements, organising meetings and events with secretariat support, and maintaining information governance standards through accurate data input and secure handling of information.

The post holder will contribute to improving administrative services, provide cover for colleagues as needed, and participate in professional development activities. They will develop key working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, both clinical and non-clinical, internal and external to UKHSA.

The role requires adherence to all UKHSA policies and procedures, delivery of corporate goals, and may include Category 1 response duties as necessary.

Requirements

Experience
- Relevant experience in an administrative or business role is desirable but not essential.
- Experience handling sensitive and confidential data is advantageous.
- Experience arranging meetings, supporting events, and taking minutes is beneficial.
- Experience working in an office environment is preferred.

Qualifications
- GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent education, or relevant experience in an administrative/business role.
- Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint (or equivalent).
