About the Role

You will be part of a collaborative community working alongside colleagues from a wide range of professions to make Parliament happen. Based on the historic Parliamentary Estate in Westminster, you will work closely with colleagues across Parliament and The National Archives, including archivists, digital archivists, information managers, and records specialists. This role offers a unique opportunity to build valuable relationships, develop expertise across multiple disciplines, and contribute to work of lasting national significance.

Your responsibilities will include establishing and embedding tools, processes, and best practices for transferring records to The National Archives (TNA) and managing records retained in Parliamentary custody. You will support Parliament in managing information responsibly and effectively, ensuring compliance with information legislation while enabling greater public understanding and engagement with Parliament's work. Through your efforts, you will contribute meaningfully to preserving and improving access to Parliament's documentary heritage.

Key duties include supporting colleagues in shaping and implementing collections management processes for closed records retained by Parliament, developing and documenting processes for future record transfers to TNA, collaborating on the design and testing of systems for digital record transfers, contributing to sensitivity review and annual record opening activities, partnering with Information and Records Management teams to promote consistent approaches, and assisting with the transfer of physical and digital records to ensure effective management and preservation of collections.
