About the Role
BELONG HERE. TOGETHER, WE MAKE PARLIAMENT HAPPEN.
As a Corporate Information Manager, you’ll play an important role in supporting the UK’s parliamentary democracy. Your work will help Members carry out their responsibilities effectively — contributing to something bigger than any one role.
You’ll be part of a collaborative community, working alongside colleagues from a wide range of professions. Together, we make Parliament happen.
You’ll be based on the Parliamentary Estate in Westminster — a unique working environment shaped by history and powered by the people who work here today.
This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a friendly team that helps Parliament manage its information effectively, securely and responsibly. By providing professional expertise, practical support and guidance, you’ll play an important role in helping colleagues across Parliament make the most of the information they create and use every day.
In this role, you’ll:
- Provide expert advice, guidance and practical support to colleagues on the application of information management policies and procedures. You will help teams adopt good information management practices by reviewing current approaches, identifying opportunities for improvement, and working collaboratively to implement effective solutions that support compliance requirements.
- Support the effective use of Microsoft 365 as an information management tool, including designing and maintaining SharePoint sites and Microsoft Teams spaces, and helping to ensure appropriate access permissions are in place to meet business needs.
- Work in partnership with business areas to support their authorised disposal of information in line with organisational policies and relevant legislative requirements.
- Design, develop and deliver engaging training and awareness activities that help colleagues build confidence and capability in good information management practices.
Experience
Good understanding of information management principles, legislation and best practice, with experience applying this knowledge in a practical setting. Proven ability to support colleagues, promote good information management practices, and contribute to the effective management of information across an organisation.
Ability to organise and manage workload effectively, balancing competing priorities and adapting to changing needs. Comfortable working independently using initiative and sound judgement to deliver high-quality work and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to explain information management concepts clearly and confidently to a wide range of audiences and justify solutions persuasively.
Enjoys working collaboratively and building positive, productive relationships across teams and departments to identify solutions, share knowledge and achieve shared goals.
About you
Collaborative, inclusive and flexible team player who values working with others to achieve common objectives.
Confident in engaging colleagues through guidance, training, communications or meetings to build understanding and encourage positive outcomes.
Motivated to contribute to the effective management of information in support of parliamentary democracy.
Qualifications
A qualification or certification in information management or a related discipline (or working towards this) and/or equivalent knowledge gained from practical experience working in the field.
