About the Role
The Art Psychotherapy post offers a comprehensive, highly specialist therapeutic service to people detained in prison. This includes psychological assessment and therapy, as well as providing advice and consultation on patients' psychological care to other members of the core healthcare team, prison staff, and partner agencies. The post holder will work flexibly and autonomously within professional guidelines, taking responsibility for the systematic governance of Art Psychotherapy practice within the service and team. They will contribute specialist knowledge from Art Psychotherapy assessment and treatment to the overall care plan for each service user through clinical meetings and documented summaries, considering complexity of presentation, client needs, risk factors, and service priorities. This role involves close liaison with prison-based and community services. Additionally, the post holder will contribute to the development of the Arts Psychotherapists team within Health and Justice services.
Experience
Experience in providing specialist therapeutic services, preferably within forensic or prison settings, is highly desirable. Ability to work autonomously and flexibly within professional guidelines is essential.
