About the Role
Ealing Adult Social Care is on an improvement journey to enable the very best outcomes for residents. We are seeking an ambitious, value-driven and inspiring leader to join us as Assistant Director for Operations. You will have responsibility for over 100 staff and a gross budget exceeding £120 million, focusing on delivering excellent outcomes for Ealing residents.

As a registered Social Worker, you will embody the profession’s commitment to addressing inequality, promoting social justice and delivering person-centred outcomes. This role requires superb attention to detail, particularly around data, an excellent grasp of financial controls, and exemplary communication skills.

Adult Social Care in Ealing provides funded social care to just under 4,000 residents with a budget of just over £120 million per annum. We aspire to outcome-focused support plans that maximise the strengths and assets of residents and communities.

Driven by co-production, we maintain a vibrant structure to hear the voices of those who draw on social care and their carers. Following a Local Government Association peer review in 2023, we developed a multi-year delivery plan focusing on strong quality assurance and delivering choice and control for residents. The LGA noted outstanding progress over the past 22 months.

Our ongoing delivery plan prioritises person-centred practice, technology-enabled lives, modernised day opportunities through the Better Days project, increased uptake of Direct Payments, accommodation-based solutions, and a focus on working age adults.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Ealing Council at a pivotal time to make a positive difference to residents and the borough.

Experience
Proven leadership experience managing large teams and significant budgets within adult social care or a related field. Registered Social Worker status is essential. Experience in delivering person-centred outcomes and working within complex, diverse communities is required.

Strong financial management skills and attention to detail, particularly with data and quality assurance.
