About the Role
Enfield Council’s award-winning Blue Green Infrastructure team is delivering a wide range of innovative flood risk management projects, including wetlands, rain gardens, natural flood management and other landscape restoration measures to meet the growing needs of this dynamic area of North London. As an Assistant Engineer, you will support this programme of work alongside other Lead Local Flood Authority and land drainage responsibilities. Your role will include working with developers to ensure new planning applications incorporate best practice Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) measures.
You will assist with the delivery of SuDS and other civil engineering projects, which may involve feasibility studies, surveys, design, site supervision, project management or contract administration. You will be expected to work on your own initiative, making day-to-day decisions to deliver your projects and work programmes, while receiving guidance from the Principal Engineer and senior team members.
Effective communication skills are essential, as you will engage with residents and third parties to address relevant queries. You will also work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritise workloads, and adapt to changing demands.

Experience
Experience assisting with the delivery of SuDS and civil engineering projects is required. This may include involvement in feasibility, surveys, design, site supervision, project management or contract administration.

You should be able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritise workloads effectively, and adapt to change. Strong communication skills are necessary to engage with residents and third parties professionally and confidently.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Degree, HNC or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline is required.
