About the Role
The London Borough of Enfield Integrated Mental Health Service is seeking experienced Mental Health Social Workers and AMHP practitioners to join our fully integrated multidisciplinary Community Mental Health Teams and centralised AMHP Service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable people, contribute to mental health service transformation, and influence the development of aspiring social workers and AMHPs through Practice Education and AYSE Programs.
The AMHP role is unique, encompassing work with both children and adults, providing varied and wide-ranging responsibilities. AMHPs play a vital role in safeguarding and supporting some of our most vulnerable residents.
We are looking for imaginative and dynamic social work practitioners motivated to contribute positively to the transformation of mental health social care, applying social recovery and empowerment models. You will work in meaningful partnerships with service users, carers, and families, utilising person-centred assessment skills based on strengths-based and enabling principles. Coordination and planning skills with a focus on prevention, recovery, wellbeing, and dignity outcomes are essential.
Enfield prides itself on a supportive work culture with strong partnerships with the North London Partnership - Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Camden & Islington Foundation Mental Health Trust, and a stable management team that empowers social workers to deliver first-class services.
This role offers professional peer support, clinical supervision, and the chance to influence social work and AMHP practice within an integrated multidisciplinary team setting. Enfield is a beacon council for independent living and fully committed to the personalisation agenda in mental health. You will benefit from a supportive learning environment, excellent professional development, and training opportunities.
Employed by Enfield Local Authority and seconded to Barnet, Enfield & Haringey NHS Mental Health Trust, you will enjoy positive practical working partnerships between the two organisations.
Enfield is a culturally diverse borough in North London with a mix of affluent and deprived wards, industrial, residential, and countryside areas. It has excellent transport links to Central London and beyond via the M25 and A406.
Experience
Experienced Mental Health Social Workers and AMHP practitioners are sought to fill these roles. Experience working within integrated multidisciplinary teams and mental health social care is essential.
About you
We seek imaginative, dynamic, and motivated practitioners who are passionate about personalised services and social recovery models. You should be able to work autonomously as an AMHP and demonstrate strong partnership working with service users, carers, and families. Enthusiasm for contributing to service transformation and professional development is important.
Qualifications
Registration as a Social Worker is required. AMHP registration with Enfield is desirable and will attract additional increments and a market factor supplement. Commitment to ongoing professional development and practice education is expected.
