About the Role
HM Land Registry is seeking an Assistant Procurement Manager to join the Finance and Business Services Directorate within the Commercial Group. In this role, you will support colleagues across the entire commercial lifecycle, including producing and using data and management information, supporting spend approval and governance processes, assuring policy compliance, and administering SharePoint and other commercial systems.

Your main duties will include supporting commercial assurance and compliance by checking records and activity against policies and audit requirements, maintaining accurate commercial records and management information through regular updates and Power BI reporting, administering Commercial Group SharePoint content and other systems, and managing Government Procurement Card compliance.

You will coordinate monthly contractual risk reporting, support supplier financial viability and market intelligence updates, and assist with commercial capability activities such as good practice sharing and network events. Additionally, you will support Procurement Managers with procurement activities including early market engagement, tender development, evaluation, and contract award. Collaboration with suppliers, service delivery managers, and internal stakeholders will be key to your success.

Requirements

Experience
- Practical commercial awareness or understanding of how decisions, processes, and controls affect value for money, risk, service delivery, or outcomes, gained through commercial, operational, project, finance, compliance, governance, or supplier-facing roles
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify errors, inconsistencies, and gaps in data, documents, or processes and proactively resolve or escalate issues
- Experience working effectively as part of a team, supporting colleagues, sharing information, contributing to shared priorities, and collaborating across different roles or business areas
- Effective communication skills to explain information clearly, ask questions, follow up actions, and engage professionally with colleagues and stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills to manage competing tasks, prioritise work, meet deadlines, and maintain progress on recurring activities and reporting requirements

About you
Enthusiastic and motivated individual with a commitment to accuracy and compliance. You should be comfortable working collaboratively and supporting continuous improvement in commercial processes. Experience or confidence in procurement, contract or supplier management, and understanding procurement regulations and policies is desirable. Familiarity with digital tools such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power BI, or similar systems is advantageous.

Qualifications
- GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet tools to organise, review, and maintain information accurately, including working with spreadsheets, lists, and basic data checks
- Professional qualification in purchasing and supply (e.g., CIPS) or working towards one is desirable
- Ability to speak Welsh is desirable for candidates working from the Swansea office
