About the Role
The Associate Mental Health Worker (AMHW) will work as a vital member of the inpatient nursing team within the Inpatient Eating Disorders Team. The role involves supporting patients with their meals, liaising with the wider multidisciplinary team, and communicating with family members. You will assist nursing, medical, and other professional staff in delivering high standards of holistic, patient-centred care. Working under the direct supervision of a registered staff member, you will carry out practical tasks identified in patients' care plans or care pathways, including meal support and helping patients manage anxiety. The role requires adherence to Trust procedures and policies while being supported and guided within the team.

Experience
Experience working in a healthcare or mental health setting is desirable but not essential. A willingness to learn and work as part of a multidisciplinary team is required.

Compassionate and patient-focused with strong communication skills. Able to work effectively under supervision and follow agreed instructions. You should be motivated to support patients with eating disorders and contribute positively to their care and recovery.

Qualifications
No formal qualifications are strictly required; however, relevant healthcare or mental health training or experience will be advantageous. Commitment to ongoing professional development is expected.
