About the Role
Are you an experienced Internal Auditor looking to join a team recognised for its valuable contribution to partner organisations? Join the South West London Audit Partnership (SWLAP), a shared in-house Internal Audit service covering the London Boroughs of Kingston, Merton, Richmond, Sutton, and Wandsworth. You will deliver flexible and responsive audits, providing independent evaluations of risk management, internal controls, and governance across a range of council services. Building strong relationships with colleagues across Councils, including senior staff and external partners, is essential, requiring confidence and credibility. You will also support junior auditors and participate in internal projects and training initiatives.
Experience
Experience within Local Authorities is preferred but not essential. A solid auditing foundation and a background that demonstrates how your skills and expertise can benefit the partnership are important. Experience using data analytical tools such as Power BI is desirable to support the ambition of becoming a more digitally enabled and insight-led team.
About you
You will demonstrate natural curiosity, sharp attention to detail, strong communication abilities, integrity, professionalism, and flexibility. You should be able to manage a busy workload and adapt to changing priorities. Being a team player who actively contributes to the development and success of the service is essential.
Qualifications
We encourage candidates to be studying or to have qualifications from CCAB accountancy, CMIIA, CIA, or QIAL. On the job training and guidance will be provided, along with support to start or complete a relevant professional qualification.
