About the Role
Sonia Friedman Productions is seeking an experienced Auto No.1 to work on the West End production of The Lives Of Others, adapted and directed by Robert Icke. This fixed-term role runs until Saturday 9th January 2027, with a start date in September 2026 (date TBC). The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of the automation equipment, overseeing automation operation, and ensuring the show’s automation requirements remain true to the original concept. You will lead a team, liaise with all other departments and associated personnel, and ensure the automation plot is carried out safely and efficiently. This role requires working calmly and efficiently under pressure with strong organisational and time management skills to ensure smooth production running. Experience
Relevant hands-on professional experience in automation is essential. Experience working on a West End production is required. Proven ability to lead a team and run a successful department.
