About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior Occupational Therapist to join the Occupational Therapy Department at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich. This post is suitable for experienced Band 5 therapists or established Band 6 clinicians seeking a new challenge. Senior Occupational Therapists independently manage a full specialised clinical caseload and supervise designated staff including students and apprentices. The role involves rotating through speciality pathways on a 9-monthly basis under the supervision of an allocated Team Lead. Inpatient rotations include Emergency Department, Acute Medical Unit, Care of the Elderly, Trauma Orthopaedics & Surgery, Critical Care & Neuro, and Outliers at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, as well as Stroke Rehabilitation at University Hospital Lewisham. A community rotation is currently being explored. Clinical governance and support are provided by Band 7 Occupational Therapy Team Leads in each specialty. The postholder will participate in ongoing education, clinical evaluation, audit, and research in conjunction with Team Leads. Rotations may change in response to service demands and the postholder may be required to work at any Trust site.

Experience
Experience as a Band 5 Occupational Therapist or established Band 6 clinician with the ability to manage a specialised clinical caseload independently. Experience supervising junior staff and students is essential.

Professional, autonomous practitioner with advanced clinical skills and the ability to manage complex patient presentations. Strong clinical reasoning, manual skills, and the ability to formulate individualised treatment plans. Able to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and maintain clinical governance standards. Flexibility to work across multiple clinical areas and sites within the Trust. Willingness to participate in weekend working on a roster basis.

Qualifications
Registered Occupational Therapist with relevant professional qualifications and current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Commitment to ongoing professional development and participation in clinical audit, education, and research activities.
