About the Role
Home-Start Sutton is an independent local charity supporting families with at least one child under five in the London Borough of Sutton. We believe every child deserves a happy, secure childhood and that parents play a vital role in providing the best start in life. Our charity supports families facing challenges such as mental health issues, isolation, domestic abuse, financial hardship, or disability by recruiting and training local volunteers to provide compassionate, confidential support. This includes home visits, peer-support groups, and parenting courses to help parents build confidence, resilience, and stronger relationships with their children.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Business Administrator Level 3 Apprentice to provide essential administration, digital, and marketing communication support to our team. This role is ideal for someone starting a career in business administration, non-profit management, or digital marketing. You will help maintain smooth operations and engage our community through a variety of tasks including digital media management, CRM data entry, event support, and general office administration.

Key Responsibilities
Digital and Social Media Support
- Schedule social media posts on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
- Design graphics and flyers for fundraising events using Canva
- Draft monthly newsletters for volunteers, donors, and partners
- Update the charity website with events, news, and resources
- Grow the WhatsApp Channel to connect families with local drop-in sessions

Business and Office Administration (including CRM Support)
- Enter referral data into Charitylog CRM for new families and children
- Track volunteer activity and match volunteers to support opportunities
- Conduct weekly CRM data quality checks
- Generate impact reports to assist funding applications
- Monitor central email inboxes and respond to routine inquiries
- Prepare resources and meeting rooms for training and trustee sessions
- Order and manage office supplies including marketing materials

Events and Project Assistance
- Promote local fundraising initiatives such as Quiz Nights and community fairs
- Support logistics for family drop-in groups
- Collect and archive family stories, testimonials, and photos for reporting

Supporting the Charity
- Assist with implementation and review of policies and procedures
- Comply with administration, monitoring, and financial systems
- Contribute to the development of the Home-Start network locally, regionally, and nationally
- Implement policies including equality and diversity, safeguarding, and health and safety
- Promote the service across Sutton and online

Qualifications
5 GCSEs A*-C/9-4 including Maths and English or equivalent.

Training to be provided
You will attend Kingston College for off-the-job training. The apprenticeship covers organisational operations, functional processes, and the wider working environment. You will develop skills in record and document production, decision making, planning, organisation, and project management to prepare for progression.

Future prospects
