About the Role
The Business Analyst will join the Transaction Services Team within Wholesale Data Services & Operations Technology, focusing on the Cash Management and Intraday Liquidity Management platform. You will perform business analysis activities as part of a global team working on front-to-back trade flow lifecycle projects and mandatory deliverables for the Cash Management platform. Key responsibilities include delivering strategic changes to optimize Cash and Liquidity management, enabling business users to effectively manage funding requirements, gathering and documenting requirements with business and technology stakeholders, and producing Business Requirements Documents and Functional Specification Documents. You will conduct functional, technical, and data-driven analysis to validate requirements and process behaviors, coordinate and report on Software Development Lifecycle activities, and proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies. Additionally, you will collaborate with vendors to understand system architecture, liquidity throttling processes, and implementation planning.

Department Overview
Wholesale Data Services and Operations Technology provides foundational architectural solutions for market and reference data powering Nomura’s business. The team develops and maintains systems managing data acquisition and distribution across front office, middle office, back office, risk, finance, and AI analytics systems. It supports trade settlement and transaction processing platforms, provides day-to-day support for middle office, operations, and regulatory users, and manages vendor and in-house applications. The team also owns applications delivering trade settlement data services to various technology teams across Operations, Finance, Risk, Regulatory, and Compliance.

Requirements

Experience
- Strong experience as a Business Analyst with a proven delivery track record on business and technology projects.
- Mandatory knowledge of Financial Products, especially Cash products covering front-to-back Trade Lifecycle, Operations/Settlements processes, Cash Management, and Nostro transfers.
- Experience working with FPML / XML messaging protocols.
- Proven experience in Liquidity management and regulatory mandates.
- Payment throttling experience is desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in both business and technical environments.
- Experience querying databases using SQL.
- Working knowledge of Unix.
- Prior experience working in a global team environment.
- Excellent listening and communication skills (spoken and written English).

- Industry exposure to Investment Banking and experience with system upgrades/re-engineering projects is a plus.

Qualifications

- Strong understanding of financial products and technology platforms related to Cash and Liquidity Management.
