About the Role
The successful applicant will join Nomura's EMEA Compliance team, providing compliance advice and risk-based oversight to the Global Markets businesses. This is a trading floor-based role reporting to a senior member of Global Markets Compliance Advisory. Responsibilities include providing day-to-day regulatory advice, assisting with compliance and transactional issues, and covering Fixed Income (FX, Rates, Credit) and Equities (Prime, Delta 1, Equity Solutions, Equity Derivatives). The role involves being a key stakeholder for regulations such as MIFID, MAR, EMIR, and Short Selling, keeping up to date with regulatory changes, analysing new regulations, briefing senior management, and participating in regulatory projects to ensure successful implementation. Additional duties include handling internal and external enquiries, delivering regular and ad hoc training to the business, providing accurate management information, and performing monitoring and reviews. The role requires a strong understanding of the firm’s business, products, and regulatory environment to ensure appropriate compliance policies and standards are implemented.

Requirements

Experience
Experience in a trading floor, business-facing Compliance role is required. Knowledge of rules and regulations relevant to a Global Markets business (UK, EU, trading venue, cross border) is essential. Dodd-Frank swaps knowledge is beneficial but not mandatory.

Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach with excellent attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with sales/trading desks and corporate support functions. Well-developed analytical skills to distil complex information into high-level briefings and impact analysis. Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet short deadlines. A good team player with strong stakeholder management skills, capable of interacting well with peers and senior management within Compliance and other divisions. Willingness to work in a trading floor environment with constant interaction.

Qualifications
