About the Role
Nomura is a global financial services group connecting markets East and West, servicing individuals, institutions, corporates, and governments through its four business divisions. The Operations Oversight Associate will join the Service Management team within Shared Services (Operations) based in London. This team provides oversight of offshore teams in Powai, India, and manages critical third-party vendors and agent banks. The role focuses on maintaining a robust control environment to mitigate operational and reputational risks across functions including F&O, Securities, FX, OTC, and New Issues.
The successful candidate will manage day-to-day oversight for EMEA, reporting to the Service Management Lead. Key responsibilities include acting as an escalation point for internal stakeholders, managing exceptions and operational risk events, compiling and reviewing daily KRIs and KPIs, liaising regularly with offshore teams to resolve issues, participating in key projects, conducting client money reviews, and providing BCP/RTR cover for critical offshore processes. The role supports the ‘change the bank’ strategy by targeting risk mitigation, cost reduction, and process improvements while enforcing operational standards effectively.
Experience
Proven experience in a finance or operations role with strong knowledge of Fixed Income and Equities Markets, including Issuance, OTC, and FX. Experience working with offshore teams and managing operational risk is highly desirable.

Confident representing the department in internal and external meetings. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to question existing practices and identify streamlining opportunities. Ability to work well within an extended team environment, both onshore and offshore.
Qualifications
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is required. Experience or skills in AI and PowerBI are preferred. A good understanding of operational risk management and control frameworks is essential.
