The Business Development (BD) function is central to executing the firm’s ambitious global strategy, putting clients at the heart of everything we do. BD teams collaborate strategically with partners, lawyers, and other business professionals to drive sustainable growth by developing and delivering targeted business development and marketing plans.
This role is part of a global BD product team supporting the Capital Markets Group, with primary responsibility for the Financial Regulatory Sub-Product Group, including global FinTech. It is a hands-on, proactive position working closely with BD colleagues and key product stakeholders to support the execution of wider BD strategy.
You will have the opportunity to explore client and market business development in a professional services environment, working with multiple stakeholders to deliver tangible results as part of a global BD team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support implementation of BD and marketing plans aligned with firmwide strategy and track progress focusing on ROI.
- Conduct research on regional product and market trends, clients, prospects, and competitors to inform strategic marketing decisions.
- Manage quality of output to meet partner expectations.
- Assist the product group in implementing BD plans and shaping BD product offerings and initiatives.
- Promote BD initiatives within the product group and firm-wide.
- Identify market trends and opportunities globally.
- Provide tailored input into significant product pitches and maintain capability statements.
- Collaborate with Brand, Communications and Public Affairs and Knowledge & Training teams to raise the profile of the product group and its lawyers.
- Support organisation of BD client events, seminars, sponsorships, PR, and marketing communications projects including directory and awards submissions.
- Assist in creation and distribution of thought leadership material.
- Apply product knowledge to support firmwide client and sector programmes.
- Monitor competitor, client, and marketplace analysis to identify new client and sector opportunities.
- Work closely with key stakeholders to deliver strategically important BD projects and support the BD Operating Model implementation.

Experience
Previous experience in professional services business development, preferably within a law firm environment.
A strong interest in and understanding of the relevant products, particularly financial regulatory and global FinTech.
Sound commercial awareness of legal market development related to these products.
Proven ability to develop advisory relationships with partners.
Strong project management and organisational skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and with lawyers at all seniority levels.
