About the Role
Clifford Chance is one of the largest international law firms in the world, with over 30 offices globally. Our Private Equity group, based in London, is central to the Firm's business strategy and offers unparalleled opportunities to work on high-profile, market-leading mandates. The group advises a diverse range of clients including leading international private equity houses, infrastructure and investment funds, banks, financial institutions, portfolio companies, and management teams. Supported by a global network and expertise across complementary practice areas, our team leads private equity transactions worldwide.
As a Senior Associate, you will be at the forefront of the market, working on a wide variety of private equity transactions including investments, exits, and ongoing portfolio company work such as add-on acquisitions, asset sales, refinancing, and restructurings. You will be an integral member of deal teams, leading key workstreams on large transactions and potentially managing smaller transactions depending on your experience. Your role will involve drafting clear and concise legal documents, providing commercial and practical advice, and developing client relationships while engaging in business development and thought leadership initiatives.
The role offers exposure to complex, high-value matters that often headline in the business press. You will develop a multi-disciplinary skill set and client-facing expertise while working alongside some of the best-known market leaders in private equity and related practice areas.
Experience
Extensive relevant private equity transactional experience as a Senior Associate lawyer, ideally gained at a City firm or a highly regarded overseas common law practice. Proven track record of providing commercial solutions and excellent transactional and management skills. Experience collaborating with multi-jurisdictional and multi-disciplinary teams is essential.
About you
Outstanding academic history with first-rate legal skills. Strong communication, analytical skills, and high commercial awareness. Ability to thrive in a team environment with high professional standards and a flexible, client-focused approach. Demonstrated appetite for business development, client relationship management, and thought leadership. Recognised by clients as a trusted adviser.
Qualifications
Qualified lawyer with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality private equity advice. Excellent document drafting skills and the ability to provide practical, commercially minded legal advice.
