About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Buying and Production Assistant to support the Buying team in delivering an inspiring and commercially successful retail offer for our Gallery shops and online store. This varied role requires excellent organisational and communication skills, an eye for aesthetics, and a genuine enthusiasm for art, design, and contemporary material culture. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the buying process from product selection through to launch, while also assisting with e-commerce workflows, product imagery, and administrative coordination. Creative flair and an appreciation for visual presentation are highly desirable. The Buying team sits within National Gallery Global, the commercial arm of the National Gallery. The team is focused on delivering a distinctive, best-in-class retail proposition that enhances the Gallery’s reputation, broadens audience appeal, and drives revenue growth across both onsite and e-commerce channels. Interviews will take place during the week commencing 19th October.
Experience
Experience in retail buying, production, or a related administrative role is desirable. Familiarity with e-commerce workflows and product imagery coordination is advantageous.

You are highly organised, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills. You have a strong eye for aesthetics and a genuine enthusiasm for art, design, and contemporary material culture. You work well both independently and as part of a team, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in retail, buying, production, or related fields are beneficial but not essential. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are highly valued.
