About the Role
Imperial College London is seeking a Campus Grounds Person to support the maintenance and presentation of outdoor areas across the White City Campus. In this hands-on role, you will help ensure that campus grounds remain clean, safe and welcoming for students, staff and visitors.

Working as part of the Campus Operations Team, you will carry out a range of practical outdoor tasks including grounds maintenance, minor repairs and supporting cleaning and waste management activities. This role involves working outdoors throughout the year and requires a flexible and proactive approach to maintaining high standards across the campus environment, as well as working hours.

You will support the day-to-day upkeep of the White City campus grounds, carrying out tasks such as jet washing pavements, removing graffiti, watering plants and maintaining outdoor areas to a high standard. The role also includes supporting the removal of rubbish within required timeframes, managing outdoor waste and recycling, and helping to ensure the campus environment remains tidy and well presented.

You will undertake minor repairs to outdoor structures such as bike racks, seating and planters, as well as basic painting and maintenance tasks as directed by the Building Management Team. Working closely with contractors and other campus teams, you will also help ensure work areas remain safe, compliant with health and safety requirements, and responsive to the operational needs of the site.

Experience
Experience in grounds maintenance or a similar practical role is required.

About you
You should have basic practical skills such as painting, minor repairs or general maintenance, and a good understanding of grounds maintenance or a willingness to learn on the job. The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, good verbal communication skills to interact with staff, students and visitors, a good level of physical fitness to carry out manual tasks, strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards are essential. A flexible and proactive approach to work is also important.
