About the Role
The Clinical Research & Development Facilitator will play a key role within the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospital’s Research Office, working closely with colleagues at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Research Office. This role supports the Heart Lung and Critical Care Clinical Group (HLCC) at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust by delivering an effective and efficient service to the research community in the development, set-up, management and delivery of clinical research. The post offers broad exposure to the full clinical research pipeline and portfolio, including pre-award support on research grants, events and campaigns support, sponsorship and hosted feasibility assessments. This position is ideal for an ambitious candidate seeking wide training opportunities and impact across a busy specialist clinical research portfolio at world-leading hospital sites.

Qualifications
Essential:
- Degree qualification in a health or life science subject or equivalent experience within a related environment
Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualification or specialist equivalent in a biomedical or clinical subject
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Training
Experience
Essential:
- Knowledge and experience of Research Governance and Approvals processes including IRAS, HRA, Research Ethics Committee, EDGE
- Experience reviewing clinical research studies for quality, governance, ethical, financial, legal and data protection issues
- Experience assessing support department and resource requirements
- Administrative experience in a large or complex organisation such as NHS R&D or Higher Education Institution
- Experience working with databases and reporting tools
- Experience of research contracts
Desirable:
- Knowledge of legislation relevant to Clinical Trials, GCP, Human Tissue Act, Data Protection Act
- Previous project or trial management experience
- Knowledge of NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) activities and Local CRNs
- Experience implementing Research Governance in NHS
- Knowledge of NIHR model agreements
- Experience working with diverse research partners
- Familiarity with costing processes for NHS research and financial information
- Experience communicating via various mechanisms
- Experience providing pre-award grant support
