About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts, providing a full range of hospital and community services across south London and specialist care for patients from further afield. The Trust is home to leading facilities including the largest dental school in Europe, a £160 million Cancer Centre, Evelina London Children’s Hospital, and one of the largest critical care units in the UK. It is part of King’s Health Partners, an academic health sciences centre, with dedicated clinical research facilities including an MHRA accredited Phase I clinical trials unit.

We are seeking candidates interested in building a career in research within one of London’s largest oncology and haematology research teams. This Clinical Research Practitioner I role is based in the Early Phase and Cell Therapy team at Guy's Hospital.

Following a comprehensive induction, you will lead the coordination of an agreed portfolio of clinical trials, assist in trial setup, identify and discuss trials with patients, collect and report data, and support patients and their carers throughout treatment. The role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to improving patient choices, care, and outcomes.

The post holder will act as a patient and participant advocate, coordinate research clinics, organise study-related care, and implement strategies to identify and enrol research participants. Responsibilities include leading a portfolio of studies, performing clinical assessments, ensuring adherence to study protocols, maintaining case report forms and site files, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to quality assurance processes.

Working within relevant regulations and ICH GCP guidelines, you will liaise with clinical teams to organise trial-specific investigations, ensure accurate data collection, and maintain essential documentation. You may be delegated to obtain consent from participants in line with Trust policy and research protocols. The role also involves organising participant appointments and follow-ups, updating study and medical records, and ensuring confidentiality of information.

Guy’s and St Thomas’ is committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion, supporting flexible working arrangements and providing a supportive environment for all staff.
