About the Role
We are seeking a Commercial Funding Manager (CFM) to join our team at Cygnet, reporting to the Commercial Funding Director. This regional role involves working remotely with occasional travel to our Millbank office in central London. The CFM will play a pivotal role in maximising revenue, ensuring accurate capture of fees and uplifts, and communicating effectively with finance and billing teams.
The role covers various healthcare commissioners who place people within Cygnet’s services. Responsibilities include overseeing communication of uplifts, tracking agreements and payments, and actively chasing agreements when required. The CFM will also support the business development team in negotiating contract agreements with commissioners.
The successful candidate will develop healthcare tracking and reporting processes, fostering close collaboration with pricing, billing, and credit control teams to ensure uplifts are agreed, billed, and paid. There is a strong opportunity to enhance existing processes for greater effectiveness.
The CFM will work closely with healthcare Business Relationship Managers (BRMs) and liaise with teams across commercial, finance, and commercial finance functions. Prior to each contract year, the CFM will collaborate with the Commercial Funding Director to develop and deliver the fee uplift project plan.
This role suits an organised, multitasking individual who is a completer-finisher able to consistently meet deadlines. Enjoyment of negotiation, customer and colleague contact, and a keen eye for detail are essential traits.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate annual Local Authority and NHS fee reviews, with frequent direct interface with customers, focusing on residential, supported living, and nursing home services
- Secure confirmation of agreed fee structures from commissioners
- Collaborate with Commercial Manager and incumbent CFM to update contract pricing schedules
- Continuously develop systems to monitor fee review processes effectively
- Liaise with Finance and Credit Control teams to address payment delays
- Ensure customers have a positive experience during fee reviews
- Support healthcare fee review processes alongside Commercial Manager and Contract Relationship Manager
- Facilitate effective information sharing to ensure uplifts are fully implemented and billed
- Lead resolution of funding disputes in liaison with funding bodies
- Maintain effective coordination systems for funding disputes
- Maintain Cygnet’s market fee database
- Contribute to projects related to Commercial Finance matters
- Provide data to inform future developments within Cygnet
- Work with Commercial Finance team to ensure Master Funding Documentation reflects latest agreements

Experience
Proven experience in managing commercial funding or contract management within healthcare or related sectors is highly desirable. Experience liaising with commissioners and finance teams is essential.

Attention to detail and a proactive approach to completing tasks and meeting deadlines. Comfortable working remotely and travelling occasionally to the London office.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in finance, commercial management, healthcare administration, or related fields are advantageous but not mandatory. A willingness to learn and develop within the role is essential.
