About the Borough
With a workforce of two hundred colleagues, we are small enough to be friendly and large enough to offer scope for career development and progression. Our colleagues work closely with residents in the borough and beyond, delivering excellent services. As a landlord organisation, we focus on enabling families and households to be safe in their homes, sustain their tenancy, and lead healthy and rewarding lives.

About the Service and Team
We are seeking a skilled professional to lead the organisation's statutory access and enforcement framework, reporting to the Compliance Contract Manager. The role involves ensuring 100% compliance across the "Big 6" workstreams, executing robust "No Access" procedures, and collaborating with legal advisors to prepare witness statements and legal evidence packs for court injunctions. You will act as the critical gatekeeper for compliance data, reconciling extensive work programmes against actual site completions and validating the accuracy of safety certifications such as LGSRs and EICRs before uploading into the Asset Management System (NEC/Northgate). You will meticulously manage the "Golden Thread" of data, support Compliance Contract Managers by producing performance packs, recording technical minutes, and proactively holding contractors accountable for overdue remedial works to prevent statutory failure.

About the Role and Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an independent and detail-oriented professional with operational autonomy and advanced data mastery to track, reconcile, and report on multi-million-pound work programmes. You should have a proven track record in a regulated housing or building services environment, with a firm grasp of statutory and legal compliance requirements. A qualification in a related M&E, Compliance, or Health & Safety area is desirable, along with knowledge of asbestos, gas, electric, fire safety, or legionella compliance.

You must be passionate about excellent customer service, acting as the primary face of compliance during resident engagement days, site visits, and emergency service outages. Excellent communication skills are essential to handle challenging conversations, resolve complex safety-related CRM queries from residents and leaseholders, and use high-level influence to persuade non-compliant individuals. You will work closely with Legal, Housing Management, and Asset teams, partnering with Social Services to support vulnerable tenants and resolve tenancy breaches that impede essential safety works.

Commercially minded but focused on resident safety, you will manage the end-to-end financial cycle with rigour, including raising high-volume Purchase Orders and approving invoices in line with financial regulations and internal audit standards. The role requires agility to manage long-term statutory safety cycles alongside immediate reactive demands such as emergency service outages, strict legal court deadlines, and urgent data requests from regulators without compromising statutory oversight.

A valid driving licence, access to your own car for business use, and flexibility for mobile working and evening/weekend demands are essential.

Our Offer to You
We pride ourselves on delivering priorities and rewarding colleagues fairly through SHP’s pay and reward systems. We offer a good work-life balance and key benefits including membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme with employer contributions of 18.4% from April 2025, annual leave of 28 or 33 days plus bank holidays, a Simply Health Cash Plan, employee benefits such as cycle to work and discount schemes, an Employee Assistance Programme available 24/7, and investment in learning and development through e-learning and external training opportunities.

Application Process
Please refer to the job profile to ensure you meet the essential criteria before applying. Complete the online application form with a supporting statement addressing how you meet the criteria. The closing date is indicative; early application is advised as the vacancy may close once sufficient applications are received. We anonymise applications to reduce bias and ensure diverse interview panels where possible. We guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria and ensure an inclusive and accessible recruitment process.

Additional Information
We are committed to diversity and creating a workforce that reflects the community we serve. We welcome applications from underrepresented groups. Sponsorship for work visas is subject to eligibility and budget limitations and evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
