Up to £196,840 per annum (FTE) depending on experience

About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for two Consultant Psychiatrists, one full time and one part time, to join our healthcare team at HMP Belmarsh, a Category A prison housing around 675 patients with a wide range of needs including highly complex and acute mental health conditions. In this role, you will support high profile patients across the general population and a 33-bed inpatient ward. You will join an experienced integrated mental health team, which includes a third Consultant Psychiatrist already working on site. We are seeking dynamic psychiatrists who are flexible, adaptable, and able to build strong rapport with both officers and patients. You will also work alongside matrons to lead the teams effectively.

How We Will Support You
You will be part of a team of over 20 experienced and supportive Consultant Psychiatrists. You will have access to monthly Consultant meetings and 1:1 clinical supervision. A bespoke induction programme is provided, including the "Introducing Health in Justice" training course and a competency framework to support your professional development.

Experience
Experience working with complex and acute mental health patients is essential. Previous experience in forensic or prison psychiatry is highly desirable.

Qualifications
Full GMC registration with a license to practice and a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Psychiatry or equivalent. Eligibility to work in the UK.
