About the Role
As a Content Designer, you will create clear, accessible, and user-focused content that helps residents find the information and services they need easily. You will work as part of an agile, multi-disciplinary team to design and publish content that solves real user problems. Using research and evidence, you will shape content and test how well it works for users. Collaborating closely with designers, developers, and service teams, you will ensure content fits seamlessly into the user journey. Your role involves making complex information simple and easy to understand, following accessibility and style standards, and continuously reviewing and improving content based on data, feedback, and performance.

About the Borough
Joining us means working for not just one high performing London Borough, but two. Kingston and Sutton councils share a number of services, offering opportunities to learn from a wider pool of activities and two different political bodies. We work flexibly across both Kingston and Sutton offices and support home and flexible working patterns, providing the equipment and tools needed to work effectively. In Sutton, exciting developments include the London Cancer Hub, a world-leading cancer research and treatment centre. In Kingston, the largest housing regeneration programme in the borough is underway, building new energy-efficient homes and transforming older council housing. Both boroughs are committed to tackling the climate emergency through investment in new technologies and societal change to reduce carbon emissions and improve climate impact.

Kingston is a beautiful Royal borough on the Thames with excellent schools, a vibrant retail centre, and abundant green spaces such as Richmond Park and Bushy Park. The Council is led by a Liberal Democrat Administration with a vision outlined in the "Greener, Fairer, Safer, Together" plan, aiming to create a vibrant, diverse, and inclusive borough where residents are empowered and resilient. Sutton is a well-connected, attractive part of London known for excellent schools, green spaces, and a rich heritage. Its Liberal Democrat Administration pursues high ambitions through the "Ambitious for Sutton" corporate plan, focusing on making Sutton a great place to live, work, and raise a family. Both councils emphasize resident engagement and play leading roles in local partnerships and London Government.
