
Location
Initially aligned to our Sydenham store, with potential deployment to an alternative nearby location within reasonable commuting distance. Final placement will be confirmed at offer stage, considering business requirements, travel policy, and work-life balance.
Hours
Full-time hours over 4 nights per week. Nightshifts typically run from 22:00 until 08:00.
Salary
Negotiable, dependent on experience, store size, complexity, and location. Includes a £4,500 premium on top of base salary for nightshift work.
About the Role
As a Customer and Trading Manager on the nightshift, you will lead a team overnight to deliver all replenishment activities across the store while actively participating in prioritising deliveries, organising the warehouse, and replenishing shelves. You will often run the full store operation alone overnight, being responsible for the entire shift and the safety and wellbeing of colleagues in store. Your focus will be on ensuring standards are excellent by morning to provide a seamless experience for customers. People management is a key part of the role, including managing performance and capability, conducting disciplinaries, and ensuring accurate scheduling and pay. This role requires bold leadership, a passion for service, and the ability to empower teams to raise the bar daily. You will be hands-on, driving operations and delivering brilliant customer service while coaching your team to do the same.

Experience
- Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service and coaching colleagues to do the same.
- Experience leading a team in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment, motivating others, driving performance, and maintaining smooth operations.
- Operational leadership skills with responsibility for store operations in the absence of senior managers.
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding KPIs such as sales, availability, customer satisfaction, or colleague engagement.
- Experience managing employee relations issues, including performance and absence management.
