About the Role
Join our team at M&S as a Customer Assistant in our Clothing & Home section, where you'll champion stylish products, on-trend designs, and deliver exceptional customer service. You will be a brand ambassador ready to recommend our newest fashion items and ensure customers feel truly valued every time they shop with us.

Being digitally confident is essential as you'll utilise digital tools such as the Sparks App and in-store devices to enhance the customer experience and ensure customers get the products they want when they need them.
Efficiency and effectiveness are key, ensuring customers enjoy every experience in our store. Being a team player is crucial; you will help create an inclusive store environment, supporting and respecting colleagues and the local community.
Flexibility is vital. You should be confident working across various areas of the store, adapting seamlessly to the changing demands of retail.
Purpose
To deliver a great shopping experience by putting customers before tasks every time while championing and promoting our brilliant products. As the face of the business, you will be the voice of our customers helping us continually improve.
Key Accountabilities
- Serve customers efficiently on the shop floor and at service points
- Keep the store clean and tidy, ensuring shelves are always stocked
- Monitor and deliver on daily sales targets, priorities, promotions, and selling opportunities
- Proactively engage with customers to understand their needs, make recommendations, and deliver remarkable service
- Build expert product knowledge to sell and recommend products and services
- Utilise all digital tools and communication channels to deliver for the customer every time
Experience
Previous retail or customer service experience is beneficial but not essential. Enthusiasm and a passion for delivering excellent customer service are key.
