About the Role
As a Customer Service Officer, you will work alongside colleagues to provide a vibrant, efficient, and friendly library service, putting the customer at the center of all activities. Your responsibilities will include undertaking routine tasks such as shelving, issuing, and discharging library materials, as well as actively promoting the use of self-service and assisting customers with ICT. You will support a range of library activities, including reading and learning opportunities, and help maintain a high standard of presentation in the library. Flexibility is key, as you may be required to work across branches and cover in other libraries as needed. You will also calculate relevant charges and fees, handle payments, lead library events, and assist with community engagement activities.

Requirements

Experience
Good communication skills and a good level of English and Maths are essential. Customer service experience is desirable.

About you
You should demonstrate agility and adaptability in your mindset and ways of working, showcasing innovation and creativity. You must be able to carry and shelve stock at high and low levels and move furniture when necessary. Confidence in understanding and interacting with customers is crucial, along with knowledge and experience of using IT equipment and software.

Qualifications
No specific qualifications are required, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
