About the Role
The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is the regulator of the private security industry across the United Kingdom. As an independent arm’s length body of the Home Office, the SIA’s mission is to protect the public through effective regulation and to raise standards across the sector. The SIA’s regulatory remit includes licensing individuals undertaking designated activities such as guarding, door supervision, close protection, cash and valuables in transit, public space surveillance using CCTV, vehicle immobilisation (in Northern Ireland), and key holding. The organisation also manages a voluntary Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) to assess private security suppliers against independent criteria.
As the Data, Digital and Performance Lead within the Inspections and Enforcement (I&E) Directorate, you will provide senior subject matter expertise and leadership for the Digital and Data Programme. You will coordinate I&E’s role to ensure successful and timely delivery of the programme and its business benefits. This includes managing risks, providing accurate progress updates, and acting as the senior lead on programme and project boards.
Your responsibilities will include driving performance improvements through the implementation of a new CRM system to support compliance and inspections functions, leading the reimplementation of the STeP Portal to support smart licences and compliance checking, and developing a portal for private security businesses to interact with the SIA. You will work closely with colleagues across the Digital and Data Programme and maintain key external stakeholder relationships, particularly with ICT suppliers.
Additionally, you will lead I&E performance data collection, reporting, and improvement initiatives by analysing data and implementing efficient processes and policies. You will ensure timely reporting and support the delivery of operational effectiveness and efficiency improvements within the directorate.
