About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ is among the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts, providing a full range of hospital and community services for people in south London, as well as specialist care for patients from further afield. The Deputy Head of Finance is a key post within the Essentia Financial Management Team, responsible for providing financial leadership for the Essentia Group and Essentia finance teams. You will lead the Month End process, coordinate additional reporting requirements, and work with Finance Managers and Directorate Management Teams to prepare and present financial performance at monthly Performance Review Meetings. This role requires significant expertise and experience in financial management, team recruitment and development, and supporting the Head of Finance in delivering Trust-wide programmes focused on improved productivity, quality, and efficiency.

Experience
Significant post-qualified experience at a senior position within a complex Foundation NHS Trust. Proven financial leadership and a successful record of working with senior clinical and non-clinical leaders across the NHS.

About you
You are a strategic thinker with the ability to challenge and influence financial planning and policy implementation. You possess excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, and can present complex financial information to non-finance staff, including directors. You are analytical, able to assess financial risks and opportunities, and have a strong sense of quality in service delivery.

Qualifications
Masters or equivalent qualification (including CCAB or CIMA Qualified) or equivalent experience. Actively enrolled in professional development courses with up-to-date CPD records.
