About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts, providing a full range of hospital and community services across south London and specialist care for patients from further afield. The Trust is home to the largest dental school in Europe and a £160 million Cancer Centre. It also includes Evelina London Children’s Hospital and has one of the largest critical care units and busiest emergency departments in London. In 2021, the Royal Brompton and Harefield joined the Trust, creating a world-renowned heart and lung centre.

We are seeking candidates to join our GI oncology research team, one of the largest oncology and haematology research teams in London. Following a comprehensive induction, you will lead the coordination of an agreed portfolio of clinical trials, assist in trial setup, identify and discuss trials with patients, collect and report data, and support patients and their carers throughout treatment. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to improving patient care and outcomes.

The post holder will act as a patient and participant advocate, coordinate research clinics, organise study-related care, and implement strategies to recruit and enrol research participants. Responsibilities include leading a portfolio of research studies, performing clinical assessments, maintaining study documentation, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to quality assurance processes. Adherence to study protocols, regulations, and local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is essential to ensure participant well-being.

Guy’s and St Thomas’ is part of King’s Health Partners, an academic health sciences centre with dedicated clinical research facilities including an MHRA accredited Phase I clinical trials unit. The GI Team is based at Guy's Hospital.
