About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS trusts, providing specialist and community healthcare services across south London and beyond. This role is based within the Diagnostic Centre, supporting the scheduling of appointments for NHS and private patients for a wide range of diagnostic tests in line with waiting time guidelines. The Patient Pathway Coordinator will lead on tracking patient pathways, working closely with clinical and managerial staff to ensure timely treatment and achievement of national targets. The post holder will provide high-quality administrative support across multiple Trust-wide specialties and contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the service.
The role involves direct communication with patients and staff at all levels, maintaining accurate data and records while ensuring confidentiality. Responsibilities include coordinating appointments, managing patient referrals, supporting multi-disciplinary team meetings, monitoring patient progress on pathways, and escalating issues as necessary. The post holder will also support the development and implementation of policies and procedures, supervise administrative staff, and participate in departmental development activities.

Experience
- Previous experience in an administrative role within the NHS or private healthcare setting
- Experience with electronic booking systems
- Understanding of NHS waiting time targets
- Desirable: Experience working within diagnostics or imaging departments and familiarity with EPIC system

Qualifications
- Good general education with English and Maths to GCSE standard or equivalent
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal
- Evidence of formal further training in administrative practices and significant hospital administration experience
- Desirable: IT package qualification (e.g. ECDL) and customer service qualification/training
