About the Role
The Domestic Lead Gas Engineer will be responsible for carrying out all general gas works to domestic housing and flats, including completing landlords’ certificates. The role requires competence in fault diagnostics and repair of both modern and traditional boilers, as well as carrying out repairs to heating systems. You will be expected to document and record job progression and completion details, including the use of Schedule of Rates (SORs) via PDA, in a timely manner. A full clean driving licence is essential as the role involves working in the field at various locations across the borough. The post holder will enter residents’ premises to carry out repairs, servicing, and installation works. Liaising with suppliers, other trades operatives, and Council departments to support job completion is also a key part of the role.

Experience
Proven experience in domestic gas engineering, including fault diagnostics, repair, and servicing of boilers and heating systems. Experience in completing landlords’ certificates and working with Schedule of Rates (SORs) is required.
About you
Reliable and competent with a strong commitment to health and safety. Able to work independently and as part of a team across multiple locations. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential. You must hold a full clean driving licence and be prepared to work within residents’ homes and liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
Qualifications
Relevant gas engineering qualifications and certifications are required to demonstrate competence in domestic gas works. Compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements including health and safety standards is essential.
