About the Role
Croydon Council is one of the largest London boroughs, committed to providing safe transportation for its Special Educational Needs (SEN) clientele to and from school. This is an exciting opportunity to join our in-house passenger transport service as a minibus driver, delivering vital services to over 360,000 residents and approximately 14,000 businesses.

Travel and transport within Croydon has evolved significantly in recent years, with a clear strategy to manage increasing demand and promote client independence through alternative travel models. We are seeking a dedicated driver with experience in passenger transport who is committed to providing a high-quality, safe, and caring service to vulnerable clients.

This permanent role involves working within a flexible rota, including core and outside normal office hours. The successful candidate will be required to wear a uniform and undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Experience
- Previous experience driving passenger transport vehicles, preferably with young people and adults
- Knowledge of Road Traffic Acts and Highway Code
- Completed MIDAS and First Aid training
- Experience assisting passengers with care and consideration
- Ability to keep accurate records and write brief incident reports
- Ability to manage and diffuse difficult situations effectively
- Ability to liaise tactfully and diplomatically between home and school

Qualifications
- Hold an appropriate "D1" driving licence with PCV entitlement for the vehicle being driven
