About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and diligent Emergency Planning Officer to join our small but ambitious team at Dartford Borough Council. You will bring knowledge and experience of emergency planning and business continuity best practices to help ensure our community is well prepared for any emergency. The Council works closely with emergency services, other councils, and partners to keep emergency plans and risk assessments up to date and accurate, enabling us to support our communities effectively and maintain essential services during incidents.

As the Emergency Planning Officer, you will act as a confident and dependable contact point, building and maintaining strong relationships with key partners such as the Kent and Medway Resilience Forum. You will identify and manage risks, lead training needs analysis, and develop and implement training programmes to support contingency and emergency plans across the Council.

This role sits within the Events and Culture team, which is responsible for delivering Council events, commissioning external events, and advising the community on their own events. You will apply your emergency planning expertise pragmatically to support the successful delivery of this extensive, year-round events programme.

Experience
Proven knowledge and experience in emergency planning and business continuity best practices. Experience working with emergency services, local authorities, or resilience forums is highly desirable.
