About the Role
Equinix is seeking an Energy Policy Manager to develop and advocate energy policy positions focused on power systems and electricity markets, primarily within the UK, key EU Member States, and Brussels where needed. This role involves engaging with policymakers, regulators, transmission and distribution system operators (TSOs and DSOs), grid operators, and other stakeholders to influence outcomes that support reliable, affordable, and timely power access for data center operations.
Working closely with the Director of Public Policy and Government Affairs for EMEA, you will support public policy initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional business teams, particularly the Energy team, to align policy positions with commercial, operational, and sustainability objectives. You will produce high-quality policy documents, including briefings, consultation responses, and stakeholder communications, while monitoring and analysing developments in UK, European, and relevant EMEA power markets.

Experience
- Strong understanding of interconnection frameworks, rate-making principles, tariff structures, wholesale power markets, and the utility and regulatory landscape in the UK and major EU Member States relevant to data centres.
- Demonstrated policy development and drafting skills with excellent analytical capability.
- Experience in regulatory policy within a DSO/TSO, NRA/regulator, think tank, or similar relevant body.
- Proven stakeholder management skills and ability to work collaboratively in matrixed environments.

- Experience working with or influencing Trade Associations is desirable.

- Relevant academic or professional qualifications in energy policy, regulatory affairs, or related fields are preferred but not explicitly required.
- A strong commitment to supporting equitable and sustainable energy policy outcomes.
