About the Role
Our Engineering Summer Internship Programme at London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is designed to give penultimate year undergraduates a real insight into a career in technology within a leading global financial markets infrastructure and data provider. Running for 9 weeks in summer 2027, this programme simulates our Engineering Graduate Programme, allowing you to experience what a career in technology at LSEG would truly be like.

During the internship, you will have the opportunity to explore various career paths by working within our Data & Analytics, Markets, Risk Intelligence, FTSE Russell, and Infrastructure & Cloud Engineering functions. Roles vary from development and programming to business analysis and tech project management. We tailor placements based on your skills and interests to ensure you join the right team.

As a summer intern, you will contribute meaningfully to the organisation’s success, gaining hands-on experience and exposure to real projects. You will be part of a dynamic, fast-paced environment that values innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.

Experience
Penultimate year undergraduate due to complete your degree in summer 2028, studying a STEM subject (science, technology, engineering or mathematics). Interest in technology demonstrated through work experience, extracurricular activities, or academic projects such as participation in computing societies, self-taught coding, or technology-focused university projects.

About you
Passionate about pursuing a career in technology with an interest in financial markets and how technology supports the business. Curious about data with strong analytical skills to draw conclusions and propose solutions. Creative thinker able to connect the dots. Resilient, focused, adaptable to changing demands in a fast-paced environment. Strong collaborator with excellent communication skills. You value both what you achieve and how you achieve it.

Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a STEM degree programme, no additional qualifications required beyond your academic studies and enthusiasm for technology and financial markets.

Recruitment Process
1. Application and resume submission
2. Technical and coding assessment evaluating coding ability, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills
3. Untimed immersive online assessment providing insight into working at LSEG
4. Video interview using strength-based interview style
5. Virtual half-day assessment centre with various exercises (details provided upon invite)

Please note all assessment centres are conducted virtually. Early application is recommended as applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and may close early due to volume.
