About the Role
Richmond and Wandsworth Councils are seeking an experienced, highly talented, and motivated Executive Assistant to provide professional administrative and operational support to the Chief Executive and Deputy Chief Executive. This unique role involves working jointly across two high-performing London councils, offering a rare opportunity to gain insight into senior-level local government operations.
You will work closely with the Head of the Chief Executive’s Office, senior officers, and councillors, managing highly sensitive information and a range of complex executive support tasks. The role requires flexibility to work across two locations and maintain a high level of office visibility.
Key responsibilities include inbox and diary management, supporting senior executives with administrative duties, serving as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, maintaining confidentiality, preparing reports, supporting and attending meetings, and following up on key actions. This is a fast-paced environment during an exciting period for the councils.
Experience
Recent experience in an administrative or support role, including developing office procedures and managing both paper and electronic records. Proven ability in complex diary management is essential.
Strong customer care skills, demonstrating tact, diplomacy, resilience, and professionalism when handling difficult situations.
Good understanding of local government operations and the key challenges it faces.
Ability to draft clear, concise responses using Plain English, anticipating needs and potential issues independently.
Ability to work independently and flexibly with limited supervision, while engaging effectively with colleagues at all levels.
