About the Role
This role is based in the European and Global Issues Secretariat (EGIS), led by the Prime Minister’s Adviser on European and Global Issues and Second Permanent Secretary to the Cabinet Office. EGIS supports the Prime Minister, the Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister, and the Minister for the Cabinet Office in his role as Minister for European Union Relations.

The core mission is to ensure the UK has a consistent and coherent approach to its relationship with the EU and international economic and global issues, supporting the UK’s national interest, economic stability, secure borders, national security, and government priorities including growth, health, and clean energy.

As Executive Assistant, you will support both the Second Permanent Secretary and Director General through managing diaries, travel logistics, preparing briefing and daily packs, handling expenses, and potentially wider office tasks including ad-hoc policy support. You will need to understand their priorities to ensure they are in the right place at the right time with the right information. This role requires proactiveness, prioritisation, and forward planning.

Your responsibilities include calendar and inbox management, acting as a point of contact, triaging requests, working closely with senior leadership and wider teams to provide timely advice and briefing, managing communications and cross-group administration, and supporting office administration such as FOIs, correspondence, expenses, and supplies. You will also contribute to making EGIS an excellent place to work.
