About the Role
The UK Health Security Agency’s Immunisation and Vaccine Preventable Diseases division is responsible for evaluating the national immunisation programme and conducting enhanced surveillance of vaccine preventable diseases to monitor vaccine impact and effectiveness. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Executive Officer within the CONSENSUS team. The CONSENSUS study aims to compare antibody responses in adults receiving COVID-19, Flu, RSV, and other vaccines as part of the UK vaccination programme. Findings from the audit are regularly fed back to JCVI to inform policy decisions.
The post-holder will assist medical and scientific staff in collecting biological samples and contextual data to analyse vaccine responses. Responsibilities include coordinating and sending specimen sampling kits to various healthcare locations, corresponding with sampling sites, providing administrative support during sampling visits, data entry, and responding to queries from GP surgeries, laboratories, hospitals, and audit participants.
Additional duties include maintaining accurate records, liaising with laboratories for sample delivery, booking participants for follow-up visits, and supporting professional development through training and appraisal. The role involves working closely with consultants, scientists, and other members of the division, as well as liaising with clinicians and scientists across the UK.
Successful candidates must pass a Counter-Terrorist Check security clearance prior to appointment.
