About the Role
As a Family Navigator within our small and friendly team, you will make a powerful contribution to Westminster’s success. Working alongside multi-agency professionals, you will be the first point of contact for families seeking advice and support through our Family Hub. You will take a proactive approach to engaging families who may not visit the Hub but could benefit from our services, by arranging home visits, visiting schools, and working closely with GPs.
As a key link between families, the community, and our services, you will help develop a deeper understanding of local needs and identify opportunities to improve the support we provide. Often acting as the first point of contact for families, you will play an important role in ensuring they receive the right help at the right time.
Building and maintaining a detailed understanding of the services available, and using a Whole Family approach to assessing needs, you will coordinate meetings with relevant networks of professionals and participate in the development of plans for families who need support. Always taking a planned and structured approach to your work, you will be committed to consulting empathetically with family members before making any referrals.
Your ultimate goal will be to ensure families’ voices are heard and their members are empowered to develop confident, self-reliant and independent lives. You will have a strong focus on safeguarding and follow relevant procedures when making referrals. In addition to timely and accurate recording of your work, you will participate in training, supervision, appraisal and your own continuing development.
