About the Role
We are recruiting for a Family Partnership Officer to join our SEND Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS) team as part of the Family Information Advice and Support Service. If you are passionate about supporting children and families with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to ensure the best outcomes, and have significant experience working in this area with in-depth knowledge of the law and guidance related to SEND, we would love to hear from you.
In this role, you will support the work of SENDIASS by providing impartial expert advice and information to all parents and carers of children with special educational needs, ensuring their views are heard and understood. You will also provide impartial expert advice on Education, Health and Social Care to young people aged 16 to 25 with SEN and/or disabilities, ensuring their views are heard and understood. Additionally, you will support parents, carers and young people to understand and navigate Health Services effectively.
Experience
Significant experience of working directly with parents and young people, providing specialist expert advice and support in the SEND field.
About you
In-depth knowledge of SEN law, guidance and the education system.
Strong communication and collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively within a diverse community.
Qualifications
Not explicitly stated, but relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in SEND or related fields would be advantageous.
