About the Role
As a Systemic Family Therapist or Clinical Psychologist within Westminster Children’s Services, you will play a vital role in transforming the lives of children, young people, and their families. Working within the clinical team alongside practitioners and managers, your focus will be on families within the Bi-Borough Children with Disabilities team.

You will use systemic thinking to unlock change in families’ everyday lives—strengthening relationships, reducing risk, and helping children thrive. Your work will be creative and varied, taking place in family homes, community settings, and therapy clinics. You will often engage with families at points of crisis, supporting them to build on their strengths and improve outcomes.

In addition to direct therapeutic interventions and assessments, you will provide specialist consultation on complex cases, contribute to teaching and coaching within Westminster and other local authorities, and facilitate reflective practice groups. As part of the in-house parenting assessment service, you will provide assessments and interventions in care proceedings and contribute to court reports.

Westminster City Council is committed to inclusive and innovative practice, offering substantial career development opportunities including systemic supervision and continuing professional development in various therapeutic approaches. You will be part of a clinical team of twenty systemic therapists across the bi-borough.
