About the Role
Living Things is one of the fastest-growing drinks brands in the UK, with listings in every major grocer, the best independents, and 20+ international markets. Less than three years into our mission to make soft drinks that are delicious and guilt-free, we are expanding our team.
We are seeking a Finance & Credit Control Manager to take ownership of our core finance operations and help build one of the UK's defining consumer brands. You will manage our accountants, run credit control, and oversee our trade debt facilities. Your priority will be ensuring cash is well managed, customers pay on time, and funding lines are used effectively.
This is a broad role with real responsibility, ideal for someone comfortable working in detail while maintaining a strategic overview. We are open to considering part-time arrangements for the right person.
Key responsibilities include managing external accountants and bookkeeping teams to ensure accurate and timely records and smooth month-end closes; owning credit control end to end by managing customer accounts, chasing outstanding invoices, and controlling debtor days; managing trade debt and invoice finance facilities including drawdowns, reconciliations, and reporting to funders; overseeing accounts payable and receivable, cash flow forecasting, and day-to-day cash management; supporting monthly management accounts, budgeting, and reporting to leadership; and improving financial processes and controls as the business scales.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years in a finance role, ideally within an SME, scale-up, or FMCG/drinks environment
- Solid experience in credit control and cash management
- Familiarity with trade debt, invoice finance, or asset-based lending facilities is a strong advantage
- Experience managing or coordinating accountants/bookkeepers
- Strong Excel skills and confidence with accounting software (Xero preferred)
About you
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-moving environment. You are proactive and able to balance detailed financial management with a broader strategic perspective.
Qualifications
Part or fully qualified (ACCA / CIMA / ACA), or qualified by experience
Nice to have
- Experience in food & beverage, consumer goods, or high-growth startup settings
- Exposure to setting up or improving finance processes and controls from the ground up
