About the Role
The London Borough of Havering is seeking a Financial Business Intelligence Officer on a 12-month fixed term contract to provide maternity cover. You will join a dedicated team supporting Havering’s People Services department, ensuring timely and accurate payments for all Social Care and Public Health services. Your role is vital in helping the borough care for its most vulnerable residents by managing payments to providers efficiently and accurately.
Key responsibilities include ensuring payments to Public Health service providers are made in accordance with contracts, building strong working relationships with commissioners and external providers to maintain accurate invoicing and payment processes, and monitoring costs and spend to support contract and budget management. You will also use your analytical skills to resolve complex finance queries and payment discrepancies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other financial or third-party systems will be essential to extract data and process payments effectively. The role requires a customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills to resolve queries satisfactorily.

Experience
Experience in financial data analysis, payment processing, or contract management is desirable. Proven ability to manage complex finance queries and work with multiple stakeholders is important.

You have great attention to detail, strong numerical and problem-solving skills, and are comfortable working with financial and third-party systems. You take initiative, work well both independently and as part of a team, and are motivated to support vulnerable communities.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in finance, business intelligence, or related fields are advantageous but not essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Outlook, is required.
